Support Ukrainian Family
On Friday, Dec. 14, a Ukrainian family being sponsored by our neighborhood arrived in Minneapolis. The East Bde Maka Ska neighborhood has already stepped up to help the family resettle, including nine neighbors who signed up to be part of the sponsorship circle.
Roman, Inna and Volodymyr are making great progress, having already taken necessary steps to get work authorization cards, social security cards, medical appointments, new jobs and a U.S. bank account. The fundraising goal of $10,000 is more than halfway met, which is being used for work transportation, food, medical expenses, housing, and tools for Volodymyr’s new job.
Funds are being collected through Alight, and your support is welcome.
You are also invited to a fundraising dinner for the family, serving wine by Rue38 paired with food by local chefs Fernando and Kalinka (The Harriet Brasserie), Steven Brown (Tilia, St. Genevieve) and Eric Sather (Lowry Hill Meats), as well as traditional Ukrainian fare prepared by Inna. You will also have a chance to bid on auction items with all proceeds going towards the cost of resettlement. RSVP below if you would like to reserve one or more of the 24 seats still available.
