Call for Block Captain volunteers and how they can help with easy crime prevention alerts with neighbors and EBMS Neighborhood Association
Call for volunteers from multi-family buildings for contacts to post safety info at buildings and begin coordinating for block by block crime prevention and safety

Agenda: Learn more about neighborhood crime concerns, promote resident tools and strategies, expand Safety Walks, debrief from July 4th illegal fireworks deterrence around the lake.
Meet with Park and Recreation Board Police and Cultural Liaison Staff to learn about their plan for deterring disturbance on July 4th around Bde Maka Ska and other impacted parks and neighborhoods around the city. Learn about specific plans for law enforcement actions on July 4th to deter illegal fireworks and large disruptive groups around Bde Maka Ska, and how residents can collaborate with law enforcement actions to keep their properties and streets safe and peaceful.
Your attendance would be so appreciated whether or not you are in town on July 4th or want to walk with a team on July 4th. It’s so important that we show our support for our law enforcement and neighborhood activists who have stepped forward to address issues that affect our quality of life around the lake and help us be valued stewards in our connection with this large regional park on our door steps.
Let’s put on our orange walking club shirts and break bread with our friends - new and old - all across the city! We will each pay our own way and here is a link to the menu to help you look forward to your supper on the lake.

6–6:10 pm: Introductions
6:10–6:25pm: July 4th plans for deterring riot and illegal fireworks activity around Lake Bde Maka Ska and how to obtaining block party permits for July 4th.
6:25–6:45pm: Walking Team expansion opportunities and what our neighboring associations are doing as part of the City Walking Clubs
6:45–7pm: Block Captains and Walking Team leaders are welcome to give updates and get support for their efforts. It’s the intent of the EBMSNA to make the Safety Committee ‘home base’ for all safety and crime prevention activity conducted on behalf of the neighborhood. Come coordinate, get support, share your leadership and updates, and grow the positive for our neighborhood!

6 – 6:45 PM: July 4th plans for deterring riot and illegal fireworks activity around Lake Bde Maka Ska with an update from Park police and more multi-neighborhood association coordination.
6:50 – 8 PM: Walking Team expansion opportunities and what our neighboring associations are doing; Block Captain, Personal Safety Workshop on April 24th and other safety updates for East Bde Maka Ska safety efforts.
Block Captains and Walking Team leaders are welcome to give updates and get support for their efforts. It’s the intent of the Neighborhood Association to make the Safety Committee ‘home base’ for all safety and crime prevention activity conducted on behalf of the neighborhood.
