Shop Local: Combine

This month we begin a series of feature stories that celebrate the local businesses that help make our neighborhood a great place to live, play, work, shop, and dine! Shopping locally is especially important while our business neighbors are impacted by road construction:

Combine is a beautiful, unique boutique located at 1609 W Lake St, with parking in the rear. We asked owner Michael Pickart a few questions about his store:

How do you describe Combine?

You'll find clothing and accessories for women and men, plus items for your home. I feature partners/vendors from the US, Japan, Italy, France, Ireland, and other countries. 

Why did you choose this neighborhood for Combine?

My partner Karen Heithoff and I operated the shop intoto for over 20 years. I love the neighborhood and the people.

What can customers expect when visiting Combine?

I hope they discover new things they haven’t seen before. New collections and an interesting assortment.

What are some of the most popular items?

We have great knitwear and scarves from Italy and around the world. Great candles, textiles, and rugs as well. Our Italian apparel collection Hannoh Wessel is amazing. Come check it out!

What is something about Combine that surprises your customers?

My customers find products that inspire and excite them in a friendly environment.
