We've picked our first book! We'll be starting with Minneapolis: An Urban Biography by Tom Weber. Please grab or order a copy at Magers & Quinn, or find it at the local library.
A bit more about the book:
Tom Weber’s Minneapolis: An Urban Biography explores the city’s history through its relationship with water—St. Anthony Falls, the Mississippi River, and its many lakes. He examines the city’s cycles of collapse and rebuilding, from near destruction of the Falls to political corruption, while highlighting who was included in progress and who was left out. Recommended by Louise Erdrich, this book also delves into the region’s Indigenous history and the land’s displacement from the Dakota people.
