Queermunity: A Bright, Welcoming Space for All
Hi, neighbors! We’re thrilled to introduce Queermunity, a vibrant new LGBTQ+ social club and resource center right here in East Bed Maka Ska. This space is open to all LGBTQ+ folks, allies, and affirming friends and neighbors, and it’s already creating a buzz in the community.
Founded by partners Hilary Otey and Kayla Barth, Queermunity was born from the dream of building a place where everyone feels seen, supported, and connected. With Uptown’s rich LGBTQ+ history, great public transportation access, and affordable rent, the neighborhood was the perfect spot to bring this vision to life.
The moment you walk into Queermunity, you’ll notice the space’s open and bright vibe—an intentional design to make everyone feel welcome. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee, attending a program, or exploring co-working opportunities, there’s something for everyone.

To celebrate their opening, Queermunity is offering all East Bde Maka Ska neighbors a special co-working promo: one free co-working day per month! It’s their way of welcoming neighbors and building community connections.
More Than Just a Space
The Café: Open 8 AM – 8 PM daily, the café is a great spot to grab a coffee or bite while enjoying the inclusive atmosphere. View menus here.
