Neighbors continue to discuss our neighborhood name. Please come to our Town Hall and share your thoughts with an online comment.

The ECCO Neighborhood Association will host a Zoom Town Hall on Thursday, January 28 from 7 to 9 p.m., and would like you to attend. Please register here to get the Zoom link. Each speaker will use the Zoom “raise hand” function and will be called on to speak, in order of who raises their hand first. Once called on, each speaker will have 90 seconds to share their views, guided by the questions written below. After everyone has spoken, we will give potential speakers another 90 seconds, in successive rounds through to 9 p.m. Non-residents are welcome to attend, but we would ask them to hold their comments until 8:30 so that we can hear from our neighbors first.

We would like you to consider the following three questions in advance of the Town Hall:

• How do you feel about the neighborhood's current name, "ECCO"?

• What values should our neighborhood name represent?

• The 2019 name change process identified ten alternate potential neighborhood names, and those that got the most votes were, in order: East Bde Maka Ska, Uptown Lakeside, and East Lakeside. How do you feel about these names?

We also invite you to send written responses to the same questions via this survey. The Naming Committee asks that you fill this out by January 31 if possible, but we will keep it open until February 7. This is another way to ensure that your voice is heard in the process of revisiting our neighborhood’s name.
