This meeting has been canceled.
Note from the Livability Committee:
Neighbors,
We have been holding a lot of meetings this month as our board committees seek to promote information and discussion on policing, public safety, diversity and inclusion. However things on the Livability front have been relatively quiet. So we have decided not to hold a Livability meeting in August, instead substituting a brief update on a couple of items from last month.
1. The Zen Center, 3343 East Bde Maka Ska Parkway, has now formally applied to the City's planning department for their parking variance (read details here). The next steps are for the Zen Center to provide some additional submissions requested by the City, followed by a recommendation by the City planning staff and a public hearing (probably in late September) to solicit public input.
2. The Lander Group development on the SE corner of 35th and Hennepin is going forward as planned. South Uptown’s appeal of the Planning Commission's approval of the project was denied by the City Council's Business, Inspections and Zoning Committee.
